Books 4 Brains Read-a-thon
To give your reading added purpose this month, please consider supporting the Books 4 Brains Read-a-thon from May 1 - May 14, with all funds directly benefiting the brain tumor research fund at Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC.
A special message from our friend Zoe:
My name is Zoe and I'm 13 years old. My mom and I decided to start a non-profit called Books 4 Brains, merging my love of reading with our mission to raise funds for pediatric brain tumor research. Shortly after I turned three years old, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor and began chemotherapy. During the past ten years, I have needed to be in active chemotherapy three different times. Books have always been an important part of my life and have helped provide a healthy escape during the physical and emotional challenges of treatment. My brain tumor is currently stable and I feel the responsibility to do what I can to raise money for brain tumor research so other children can benefit from advances in treatment like I have.
Please, READ a book, PLEDGE some $, HELP find a cure for children with brain tumors... because children deserve to grow up. All donations can be made through the hospital's secure online portal.
