Jordan's TikTok Books Review!

"Morals create a labyrinth of rules geared toward blaming the victim." --Maria Adelmann, How to Be Eaten

Thanks to TikTok all types of books have been blowing up here are just a few that I think are overrated, deserve all the hype and books that I wish would receive more hype. Obviously, these are my opinions so you may disagree with me but isn’t that the fun of reading, all of us having different tastes in what we read?

3 Books That Are Overrated

How to Sell a Haunted House by Grady Hendrix

This one was a disappointment. I’ve liked some of his other works, this one is not one of them. Nothing happens for the first 50% of the book and when it picks up it just wasn’t worth the buildup. Not worth the time to pick up and read.

Tender Is the Flesh by Augustina Bazterrica

This was so hyped up because of the ending but to be perfectly honest the ending was so anticlimactic. I read it and was like this is it? This is the ending that had people going crazy. This book has graphic scenes so if you do decide to pick it up be aware.

We Had to Remove This Post by Hanna Bervoets

The Premise of this story was so interesting until it started to switch courses to a whole other plot that wasn’t enjoyable. I wish it stuck to the original plot. I would skip this one honestly but if you decided to pick it up check the trigger warnings first.

3 Books That Deserved All the Hype

Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross

I loved the unique takes on the gods not your standard Greek gods something different. With a rival to lovers' relationship that had me kicking my feet anytime they are interacting this one 100% deserves all the hype that it gets.

If He Had Been with Me by Laura Nowlin

I loved this book I did not want to put it down. The emotions I felt while reading this I can’t even put into words. If you want to feel something you should read this!

The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

A refreshing taking on mysteries rather than focusing on a murder they focus on a game instead. This is fast paced and fun, you could read it in a day! I say check it out.

3 Books That Are Underrated

How to Be Eaten by Maria Adelmann

This book was a fun feminist retelling that I wish more people would talk about. It was fun matching the stories to the fairytales. I highly recommend checking this book out.

That's Not My Name by Megan Lally

This mystery started off strong and ended just as strong. I did not see the ending coming, probably one of the best twists I've ever read. If you want a shocking ending read this one!

The Invocations by Krystal Sutherland

This had a different take on magic that I’ve never read before which made it that much more enjoyable. I was magical, queer and spooky. This one is a must read!
