Shuggie Bain by Douglas Stuart: Dive into the story of Shuggie and his mother as they live through 1980s in Glasgow, Scotland under Thatcher's policies. Shuggie, who is young and struggling to find his way, has become his mother's caretaker as she battle alcoholism. It's a heartbreaking story of family, love, sexuality and addiction.
